Poem by Glynis Terborg
I’d seen her before
My eyes trying to focus and meeting…
This black woman
Her smile playing a magical song
That was long forgotten.
Her hands spoke of tales
Either since long past
Or never told before
Eyes as black and soft as her skin
Deeply I sank into them
Was this magic?
She made me drift to sleep
A dream carried me
The dark color of her eyes
Welcomed me
Within them I recognized something
My beloved?
Was this magic?
I simply had to feel,
To make sure that she was real…
A black magic woman
